International Day of Yoga - June 21, 5-7pm:

The United Nations General Assembly, on December 11, 2014, adopted a unanimous resolution declaring June 21 as the International Day of Yoga - aims to raise awareness of the many benefits of practicing Yoga: integration of well-being, global health, and peace through skillful and compassionate actions. Click here for more.  Millions of people have since participated in the celebrations of Yoga every year worldwide.

I will be leading a sequence of Surya Namaskara (Sun Saluatations) variations in honor of The International Day of Yoga followed by a restorative sound meditation. This is a sponsored event with vegetarian luncheon beforehand and celebration after class.

Registration is open:

Yoga + Meditation at Loopwell - Sundays, 10am

Hatha for Health - based on the timeless wisdom of Yoga (union) - the foundation for postures (asanas), breath (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana) -  as a process of integrating the body, mind, breath, and spirit. The word Hatha in Sanskrit - the traditional language of yogic texts - “ha,” is sun or solar, and “tha,” is moon or lunar. Hatha is a dynamic energy of mindful strength and will. This class will enable beginner students to discover the depths of the body through the art, science, and philosophy of Yoga, as well as deepen the practice for seasoned students. Refreshments and community time afterwards.
